Taking over the london eye
BBC Sounds was the biggest product launch from the BBC in a decade. The platform brings together the BBC’s live and on-demand radio, music and podcasts into a single personalized app and website.
To mark the launch on 1st November 2018 Cake worked with the BBC to deliver ‘The London Ear’. Taking over & branding 6 of the pods on the London Eye the day saw Radio 1, 2, 3, & 4, 1Xtra, 5 Live and 6Music broadcasting live from 3 of the pods as well as a number of podcasts being recorded from 2 of the pods and the remaining pod used for hospitality with media and influencers.
To amplify the launch further we took over neighboring county hall before sunrise and after sunset to project a 60s projection, lighting & audio show to promote the app which included lighting up the London Eye in recognizable BBC Sounds shade of orange and audio that boldly projected across the other side of the Thames.
