Glasto 2016 powered by EE

EE were once again the named sponsor and technology provider for Glastonbury 2016 providing festival goers with the fastest 4GEE network, access to charging facilities on site and the Glastonbury app.  To help bring this to life, we built EE three separate sites at the festival: The EE Recharge, Shop & Exchange Tent, The Exchange Cabin and The EE Garden, a hospitality area for guests of EE.

We gave both EE and non-EE customers the opportunity to purchase ‘Festival Essentials Packs’ or 'Juice Tube Power Banks' prior to the festival. They were then able to use and exchange them at the festival. Our team was on the ground working hard to swap over 22,801 batteries across the weekend, whilst over 17,600 festival-goers visited the tent to charge their phones in the traditional way.  Inside the tent, we also gave festival-goers the chance to watch exciting 360 footage of the festival on Samsung VR Headsets: the first of its kind at a festival

In addition to the main sites, we also hosted an exclusive list of media and VIPs in the EE Garden, giving guests a relaxing haven away from the festival. As part of this, EE hosted a special brunch with bespoke street food chefs and surprise performances from artists in a private garden session.
