26 YouTube Stars, 6 FIFA legends and 20,000 spectators

From the bedroom to the pitch, YouTube stars and football legends stepped onto the freshly cut grass of Wembley Stadium to take part in a football match like no other. Fast foward 31mins for Robbie Fowlers'sincredible opening goal!

YouTube gamer and football fanatic Spencer Owen, more commonly known as Spencer FC, worked with EE to create a content series where he and fellow YouTube star Joe Weller battled it out in a host of challenges before taking two all-star teams to the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium. With support from EA Sports, FIFA football legends dusted off their boots and returned to the pitch, as the winner of each challenge would be rewarded with a legend for their squad.

26 YouTube stars, 6 FIFA legends and nearly 20,000 spectators attended Wembley Stadium on Friday 2nd September to watch the match live from the stands, with hundreds of thousands more tuning in to watch via YouTube. The match really didn't disappoint... An opening goal by Robbie Fowler scoring a spectacular 30 yard free kick, a cheeky back heel by Patrick Kluivert sweeping past Peter Schmeichel and a 7-4 finish in favour of Spencer FC, fans were given a match to remember.

The Wembley Cup really pushed the latest trend of 'online superstars' who were able to transfer their social audience into a dedicated crowd of 19,000 who paid to see them play football in the UK's most iconic stadium. Overall the campaign stepped up from its previous counterpart. Boosting engagement among younger audiences, increasing awareness of EE's sponsorship of Wembley, highlighting special BT Sport content available for customers and putting EE in front of millions of eyeballs.

The Wembley Cup was a combined effort with the help of EE's other agencies (Poke & Hoi Polloi, M&C Saatchi, MEC), and a range of new partners (EA SPORTS, Game, Microsoft, the Bobby Moore Foundation) and the team at Wembley.
